It's been a while, hasn't it, Jack the Ripper?

Sat May 16, 2009, 9:53 AM
Bad quotes from "Metal Gear Solid 2" aside, it's really been a while since I've been here. So... for those who are interested, I'm still alive. There's a great song by Lisa Miskovsky called "Still Alive", by the way. I suggest to give it a listen or just skip it and listen to Lisa Hannigan's CD "Sea Sew" instead. Might be best if you get some glue, too, to make sure her CD stays in your CD player (*1).

Hmm, what else is new? Well, I finally stopped studying IT and switched over to anglistics/americanistics and computer science. Strange combo, I know. For some reason anyone who's not a Computer Scientist (*2) seems to think they (the computer scientists) know everything. I can't even remember how often I've been asked to set up a colleagues Wi-Fi access to the unnecessarily cryptic university network and needed to decline the "offer", exactly because of that cryptipticness (*3). Plus, I don't even own a laptop, and our home is still wired, so I have no clue how to set up a normal Wi-Fi network anyway.

Other than that not much happened. Ok, I decided to get a tattoo, but that's going to be much more interesting once it's actually on my arm, and I'm starting to think about expanding on it. Anyway, enough typing for today (*6).

(*1) Warning: Might only work on some models and completely break others, so do it at your own risk! I'm not taking any kind of responsibility if you screw up, but I will glady laugh if it happens.

(*2) Theologists are the exception here, because God is the only being that knows everything. I'm not a theologist and I never met God in person, so I wouldn't, but I'm quite sure that Mr. Spock (*4)(*5) would disagree.

(*3) What's the real word for that? Crypticness? Crypticity?

(*4) I think the number 4 in combination with Mr. Spock is reason enough to mention that the new Star Trek is possibly the best movie in the series since Star Trek 4.

(*5) Are recursive footnotes even allowed? Hmm...

(*6) I agree, sitting in front of the computer won't help with not typing anything for the rest of the day *sigh*

I did not turn back. I pressed on, and eventually passed over the border, beyond which lies a place that is wordless and cold, so cold that it, like mercury, burns a freezing blue flame
Naja, das würde ich nicht behaupten wollen, aber trotzdem vielen Dank :)
